Benny Kaslunds travel through
entrepreneurship started off in 1979, when Benny was a mere 15 years old, and
started out as a fisherman. The same year, he started on Skippers kolen in
Skagen, an education, which opened up the possibility to travel with the
largest ships on all five world oceans. When Benny finished his education in
1985, he once again returned to fishing, which he unfortunately had to give up
on again merely 6 months later, due to back injury.
Benny couldn't put fishing
completely away, and that’s why he started his own ship broking company, where
he for a period of time worked with selling nearly all types of ships and
boats. He sold the business in the early 90’s, and then founder done of
Denmark’s largest fireworks importers – Fyns Fyrværkeri Import. The company
quickly got successful, primarily because they chose to market their product
sin both television commercials and written media.
Benny Kaslunds company was one
of the very first in the fireworks industry to hold demonstrations of their
products and there often came several thousand visitors to see the fantastic
shows. As the company’s success rose, more and more providers entered the
market for fireworks, and Fyns Fyrværkeri Import all of a sudden wasn’tthe only
ones having amazing fireworks shows and popular sales around New Year’s Eve.
On 3rd of November 2005 there
was a huge accident on a fireworks factory in Seest near Kolding, Denmark,
where three explosions induced earthquakes, equal to 2.2 on the Richter scale.
Many homes were damaged, and around 2,000 people were evacuated due to
poisonous smoke development. This accident made Benny Kaslund change his
course, and he shut down FynsFyrværkeri Import the same year.
Benny's next project was the
business Bedst & Billigst - Vinduerog Døre. Since there around this time
were overall good economies in Denmark, many chose to build a house or renovate
their home – something Benny's new company benefited greatly from. In 2008, the
business had become so large and successful, that it got the opportunity to
enter the stock market.
In his spare time, Benny
Kaslund often goes hunting and fishing, and when he’s in need of a holiday, he
usually travels to Austria, but he has also taken a cruise to the Caribbean.
